Indagare Loves
- Breakfast in the sky-lit dining room of the hotel’s Orangerie restaurant—even in the dead of winter, the restaurant is full of light
- The prime location along a pedestrian street within steps of award-winning food hall, Östermalmshallen
- The fresh, contemporary Scandinavian interiors that bring the Malmström’s former home into the present
Review
Named for one of its owners, Dagmar Bergsten—“a modern, worldly and curious [woman], with a passion for travel, culture and social scenes”—Villa Dagmar channels its honoree’s signature vibrance and energy, with an eye towards tradition. The design is playful yet rooted in natural forms and textures—in other words, typically Swedish. Standout features include a concept store and florist, a space devoted to rotating art exhibitions and a culinary program designed by chefs Daniel Höglander and Niclas Jönsson, with the option of eating at the restaurant or in the garden courtyard. There is also a wine bar, small spa and fitness center.
Travelers eager to drop their bags and explore the delights of Stockholm by foot will be pleased by the location of the hotel along Nybrogatan Street, situated in the heart of Stockholm between the financial district and Nybroviken harbor. In the evenings, the Orangerie restaurant comes alive with locals and guests and is the perfect place to have a cocktail before walking to Brasserie Astoria or Milles for dinner.
Who Should Stay
Travelers who want a hotel that is more boutique in feel than The Grand Dame Diplomat and a fraction of the price of superstar property Ett Hem. Villa Dagmar is ideal for someone who is satisfied by fresh design and beautiful, lively common spaces, despite relaxed service and smaller rooms.
