Review

For over two hundred years, the Tsinandali Estate has been a focal point for Georgian culture and intellectual life. The hotel is located on the historic 18-hectare grounds of the summer home of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze, a general and poet born in 1786 who is known as the “father of Georgian Romanticism.” In the early 1800s, he created Georgia’s first modern-day winery, combining ancient Georgian methods with French winemaking techniques. The family house museum is just a short ride from the main hotel building and its highly-anticipated addition, Tsindandali Estate Villas, which are currently under construction.

In 2019, architect Damian Figueras and designer Ingo Maurer were commissioned to redesign the historic complex and public areas of the hotel, combining both tradition and modernity. The property’s 124 guest rooms and suites have a modern style in keeping with classic Radisson design, though natural materials and colorful Georgian textiles soften the contemporary look. There are also three restaurants serving Georgian, French and international cuisine, along with three bars.

Guests traveling here in early September will likely witness the annual Tsinandali Festival, which features classical musicians from all over the world in the open-air amphitheater on property (also perfect for private celebrations).
