Review
Located on one of Mexico City’s most important boulevards, the Paseo de la Reforma, the new Ritz Carlton is a chic and luxurious addition to Mexico City’s hotels. The hotel’s 153 rooms and 19 suites are located on floors 37-47 of a modern, mixed-use glass tower, and afford incredible views of the city’s Chapultepec Park (the Central Park of Mexico City).
The vibe is very modern, if a bit anonymous, with plenty of marble and black surfaces. Though the rooms might lack the sense of place you find in other Mexican hotels, the views more than make up for this.
There is a well-appointed spa on the 12th floor, with a small plunge pool and several treatment rooms, adjoined by a fitness center.
For dining, there is an excellent restaurant on the 37th floor from Chef Jonathan Felix that specializes in Mediterranean cuisine with a distinct Mexican influence using the abundant local produce. The coal oven roasted Wagyu beef is especially worth the visit. Choose from wines (an excellent selection of both Mexican and international wines) that are handpicked by their in-house sommelier or indulge in the many tequilas, mezcals, and bespoke cocktails. And on the top floor, Ling Ling from Hakkasan draws a buzzy crowd of well-heeled locals, who come for the views and reliably delicious pan-Asian cuisine.
The location is central, just a few miles from the historic center of Mexico City and close to the tony Condesa neighborhood.
Who Should Stay
Anyone for whom a room with a view is paramount. These are the best views in Mexico City, matched with excellent service and room product.
