Review

A converted Soviet-era publishing house once frequented by Georgia’s cultural elite, Stamba is nestled in the charming and historic Vera neighborhood of Old Tbilisi. It is owned by Georgian hotel group Adjara, the team behind the city’s bustling hot spot Fabrika, and like its sister property, Stamba Hotel is one of Tbilisi’s places to see-and-be-seen. Channeling “Brooklyn loft” vibes, the property has a young and energetic feel.

Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves adorn the 42 guest rooms, each with comfy mid-century furniture and a creative mini bar of curated snacks and spirits. Bathrooms are open-concept, so be prepared to enjoy a bath practically in the center of your spacious room. While rooms are bright, the hallways are dark, adding to the atmosphere of this elegant warehouse (though they could pose a problem for travelers with vision-impairment).

The hotel’s Café Stamba offers an avant-garde take on local Georgian cuisine, and Pink Bar is one of Tbilisi’s hottest bars.
