Nantucket town is a wonderful place to hunt for unique finds. The island has been successful in keeping most big-label stores out, though in 2005, the arrival of Ralph Lauren was a huge point of contention (today, the elegant boutique on Main Street blends in seamlessly with the independent shops). A word of advice: bring an extra bag or leave some room in your luggage.
