In the coastal development of Punta Mita (about 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta and 10 minutes from Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita), comes a new vision from the Four Seasons brand. Gone are the days of front desk check-ins and concierge desks, long hallways of rooms and suites or racing to the beach club in the morning to get a chair before the crowds. In this adults-only all-inclusive concept, Naviva has found a new niche in the travel market: an intimate beach resort that embraces community connection and personal growth while keeping a strong grasp on its Mexican heritage.
The staff has been specifically trained to keep interaction casual and informal—yet detailed—in every way possible. And for those guests who realize they are missing a few of the amenities that a traditional beach resort offers (like swimming laps in a larger pool or shopping), Naviva guests have full access to the Four Seasons Punta Mita grounds.
Throughout the property, you’ll find examples of biophilic design and biomimicry – in which the natural world is the driving influence for design solutions. Buildings are meant to be at one with the surrounding forest and coastline, using reclaimed wood, local stone, copper and bamboo. The result: gorgeous tents with open-air living rooms separate from the bedrooms, oversized bathrooms and expansive outdoor living areas with private plunge pools and outdoor showers. In Grand Tents, each of those spaces is slightly larger, and there are outdoor fire pits for evening relaxation. Local artisans and craftspeople decorated the resort with items authentically connected to the culture of Mexico.
Copal Cocina is Naviva’s open kitchen, and the heartbeat of the property. Complimenting Naviva’s fluid and informal style, your all-inclusive stay includes all meals, snacks and beverages (including many premium wines and spirits). The culinary team has eschewed tradition to create a fully personalized dining experience. Detailed notes of guests preferences and tendencies are taken by the staff and used to tailor meals with a constant focus on locally-sources ingredients. Freshly caught mahi mahi tacos for lunch and extravagant 5-course dinners are all possible, as are “destination” meals, like by the Selva Pool or simply on your private terrace.
For wellness-focused activities, the property features two spa pods surrounded by the forest in which guests can enjoy natural treatments or relax in the timber soaking tubs. At the House of Heat, guests can experience a traditional tezmacal experience with a dedicated curandero. Throughout the day, Daily Naviva experiences are scheduled and range from guided nature hikes, sound bathing or guided meditation. For strength training sessions, guests can visit the outdoor Mar Gym.
