A qvevri is an egg-shaped earthenware vessel that has been used for aging and storing wine since ancient times—and with the popularity of the natural wine movement, they have been seeing greater demand in recent years. Indagare can arrange a visit to the workshop of a ceramicist who makes qvevri. The ceramicist will walk you through his workshop where you’ll see the production process before sitting down to taste some chacha, a Georgian pomace brandy that is popular throughout the country (also called vine vodka).
