Currently a museum with reproductions of ancient guns and armor, Strekov Castle has had a long, tumultuous history. Constructed in 1316 for John of Luxembourg, the castle was then transferred to the Lobkowicz family in 1563, and later confiscated during both the Nazi occupation and the communist regime. The noble family regained ownership in the 1990’s, at which point the picturesque castle was transitioned into a museum. Perched atop a cliff overlooking the Danube River, Strekov offers such breathtaking views that Geothe declared them to be the best in Europe. Indagare members can contact the Bookings Team to arrange a private event at the castle, located just one hour from Prague.
