This lovely boutique in a shack-like structure just behind Playa Vik carries some of the loveliest finds in José Ignacio. The vibrant womenswear and accessories capture the barefoot, bohemian beach vibe of the area. Don’t miss the merino wool knits that are handmade in Uruguay; there are shawls and ponchos in a rainbow of colors that are perfect for nights by the sea.

Santas Negras

Owned by two of the area’s top interior decorators (Patricia Torres and Paula Martini), Santas Negras is a housewares and fashion shop that sells pieces that emulate the laid-back look of the region’s most stylish houses. Funky finds from their travels in Asia are mixed in with linens and glassware from France, mid-century furniture and Uruguayan light fixtures, wool carpets and pillows. Rounding out the seductive scene is a corner of Uruguayan fashions in leather and merino and alpaca knits as well as a café/bar.

Right next to Parador La Huella, Sentido sells an eclectic mix of beach-inspired wares from soaps and scented candles to linen shirts, throw pillows and furniture.
