This recent addition to Paris’ culinary scene, La Renommée, marks the international debut of the team behind favorites Au Cheval in Chicago and 4 Charles in New York. Named for the 1823 storefront it occupies in the 1st Arrondissement, this 42-seat restaurant is a gem. The menu pays homage to classic French cuisine, from pot au feu to escargots de Bourgogne and sole Meuniere to traditional American fare like New England crab cakes, New York strip steak and the legendary Au Cheval griddled double cheeseburger (billed here as the “West Village” style). An array of crafted cocktails also captivates, including Negronis, Sazeracs and an Armagnac Old Fashioned.
