Chinatown's China Live has a bold assemblage: a tea shop, a bar, a market, two private event spaces and two very distinct restaurants. The one on the bottom floor has an impressive modern-industrial dining room featuring an open kitchen and Chinese clay oven which turns out such standouts as the crispy-skinned Chinese Peking duck. Other dishes change with the seasons and reflect the restaurant’s Californian sensibility. Upstairs at China Live is the formal Eight Tables by George Chen.
