In the former Barefoot Carmelite monastery dating to the 17th century, GNAM houses modern and contemporary art in 75 halls. There are more than 5,000 paintings and sculptures to view, and famous names found here include Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Piet Mondrian, and Charles Simon Catel. Various exhibitions are always on view as well.
