At a Glance

With a cavern entrance behind the main street, the boutique hotel Omnia offers a sleek, hip hide-away with views over the town and Matterhorn beyond.

Tucked behind the main street within an actual cavern, walking to the Omnia feels like you've wandered into Ali Babba’s secret cave. At the back you reach an elevator that whisks you up to the main lobby with floor-to-ceiling windows and views over Zermatt town. Certainly the most modern and boutique of the more luxurious options in Zermatt, the Omnia has thirty rooms total, all with balconies (Indagare tip: splurge for rooms with Matterhorn views, as those on the back of the hotel face the cliff). The hotel boasts a restaurant, fitness room, indoor pool, bar and pool. The entrance is also steps away from Heimburg restaurant, a Michelin-starred gem tucked away on the same side street. The cavern that guests enter through also has an underground bar with live music several nights a week.

Who Should Stay

Couples who would prefer a more boutique, contemporary experience. Those guests with small children who require the amenities and convenience of a larger full-service hotel (lobby scene, ski room, and 24-hour service) should consider the Mont Cervin Palace.
