Review

In bucolic Wiltshire, Lucknam Park is the quintessential “English countryside estate.” This hotel is set on 500-acres just two hours outside of London (and 1 hour 30 minutes from Heathrow Airport).

Lucknam Park’s 42 characterful rooms and suites are divided into two sections: the main house and courtyard. The main house accommodations feel more traditional in style with antiques and luxurious fabrics, whereas the courtyard rooms are a bit more spacious with lighter tones and fabrics. The hotel also has one Country Cottage (three-bedrooms), two Manor Cottages (one- and three-bedrooms) and two Grand Cottages (three- and four-bedrooms) which combine the comforts of home with the perks of the hotel, and are ideal for families.

On-property, guests can go horseback riding along scenic trails, play tennis and enjoy cycling excursions (complimentary bikes are available). For those in search of tranquility, leisurely strolls through the expansive gardens and woodlands provide a serene escape. Additionally, guests can venture beyond the estate to uncover historic landmarks such as Bath's Roman Baths or the iconic Stonehenge, about an hour away. Lucknam Park also has a world-class spa with a 65-foot swimming pool (with family hour options), ample treatments and wellness offerings.

For dining, Michelin-starred Restaurant Hywel Jones presents modern British cuisine at its finest, while a brasserie restaurant is a more casual (i.e. family friendly) option.

Who Should Stay

While Lucknam Park caters to everyone, families will be especially comfortable here given the plethora of activities and larger accommodation options.
