It’s hard to get New Yorkers excited about bagels, as most have their own favorite neighborhood spot. But leave it to Major Food Group, the restaurateurs behind ever-popular Carbone and Dirty French, to tackle one of NYC’s most revered foods with serious flair; Sadelle’s, their Jewish bakery that opened to fanfare in September 2015, churns out three varieties of everything bagels and a chocolate-covered chocolate babka that is a contender for best in the city. Patrons hoping for heartier fare can opt to bypass the café counter in lieu of the spacious dining room, featuring exposed brick walls, camel leather booth seating and industrial accents like cement floors and paint-chipped barstools. The bistro area, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, dares patrons to hunker down over large-format latkes, bagel grilled cheeses and a variety of hearty chopped salads. ads.
