Sunshine Company

Run by the same owners as the excellent Blue Bird Coffee in the East Village, Sunshine Company sits on a, yes, sunny corner of Washington Avenue, in walking distance to the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Gorgeous flower arrangements bring additional life and color into the industrial-chic dining room. The menu is short and focused on seasonal fare, with lots of choices hinting at the increasingly hipster clientele of this neighborhood (chopped kale salad of course). It’s a great spot for brunch if you’re visiting the garden and/or museum. During the week, it’s open for dinner only
