Johanna Melamed was still studying at UCSB when she founded this shop, which sells, buys and trades secondhand couture pieces as well as vintage accessories and brand-name clothing (best-seller labels include True Religion, Citizens of Humanity, Catherine Malandrino and Gucci). Melamed has now graduated, but until recently UCSB students still got a 20 percent discount.
