This local favorite opened on Bastille Day in 1998, and regulars are never disappointed when they bring visiting friends to sample great California farm to table cuisine in pretty but unpretentious surroundings. The seasonal menu may include such starters as a forest mushroom ragout and main dishes like herb-crusted yellowfin tuna or char-grilled rack of lamb, while the cheese plate samples delectable cheeses from award-winning California creameries. The wine list celebrates top wines from the Santa Barbara region, with an excellent selection of local chardonnays and pinot noirs. Inside the dining room is cozy, with wooden floors and white tablecloths; outside, the tables are first come first serve – contrary to the rumor that they are held for regulars. There’s also a nice private dining room.
