This beautiful space is worth a visit to see the building alone—the structure served first as stables for a noble’s horses and carriages, and then as a market for housewares. Now the building has been reimagined as a café, cocktail bar, restaurant, flower and fragrance shop and housewares boutique, and it has a stage in the basement for jazz and other performances. While reinventing the space with hanging lights and plants, the owners left the original bones to remind you of the structure’s rich history. The food at the restaurant—creamy polenta with cocoa beans and grapes or suckling pig with roasted apples, for example—is delicious.
