Il Mercato Centrale

Inaugurated in 2014 on the top floor of Florence’s historic central market, Il Mercato Centrale is what can best be described as a gourmet food court. Artisan producers were carefully selected to sell high-quality products from all over the country, ranging from fresh mozzarella di bufala that is made on the premises twice weekly—visitors lucky enough to be there on the right day can watch a demonstration of the mozzarella-making process—to truffles, to delicious fresh pasta and perfect Neapolitan pizza. Walk around to the various stands with a tray, choose what you’d like to eat and sit down to dine in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere.
