Review

Situated along the central Via Veneto, Regina Baglioni offers easy access to Villa Borghese, and is just a 15-minute walk to the Spanish Steps and Via dei Condotti. Built in 1904, this historical building boasts 118 rooms spread over 8 floors, and offers multiple connecting room options, making it convenient for families.

The hotel’s location is best for guests who don’t need to stay in the thick of things (ie the Spanish Steps area). Because the U.S. embassy sits across the street from the hotel, it also tends to be a popular hub for diplomats visiting the city.

Interiors are designed in traditional décor, with heavy curtains and dark rich colors. Some rooms have a small Juliet balcony option overlooking the streets. A small subterranean spa offers several treatment rooms and a diminutive gym. The Brunello Lounge and Restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine in a traditional yet relaxed atmosphere. Guests can choose from sitting in the dining room area or grabbing an overstuffed chair and settling in with one of the hotels delicious cappuccinos.

An impressive highlight of the Regina Baglioni is the renovated Presidential Suite. Taking up the entire top floor, the suite is serviced by an elevator that opens directly into the foyer of the suite. With three bedrooms, four bathrooms, five terraces and a private gym, this is an ideal option for a family, especially for a long-term stay. There is a wraparound terrace and private outdoor space with a sofa, Jacuzzi and small TV.

Who Should Stay

Couples or families who appreciate traditional Italian décor, and want to be a bit removed from the congested Spanish Steps area.
