Review
Overlooking the whitewashed Cycladic houses of Chora and the azure Aegean waters below, the Belvedere is ideal for travelers who want to be in town and near the action. Formerly a private mansion dating back to the 1850s, the hotel has forty-six rooms, generally quite small, in the main building, and three villas next door.
The all-white, clean modern design of the rooms is set off by walnut features, hand-cut marble mosaics and marble floors. Guests should be sure to make preferences known as privacy, views and space run few and far between. For those, who want to be close to the island’s lively southern beaches, the hotel has four Seaside Cottages just behind Nammos restaurant in Psarou (Mykonos’s answer to Nikki Beach in St Tropez). Each cottage, whose design is in keeping with the main hotel, has five bedrooms and a garden that shields it from the popular Nammos scene.
Who Should Stay
People wanting to be in walking distance to town, so couples who want to go out for late meals or partying and parents with teenagers in tow.
