The Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg showcases 20th-century Danish and international modern art, housed in a Scandi-design building that is an attraction in its own right. Designed by world-renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, it’s his only museum building outside of Finland. The unique pyramid-shaped ceiling and elongated skylights cast a dreamy atmosphere for viewing the 1,500 items in the collection. The museum also hosts a number of rotating exhibits from international artists, and  visitors will see sculptures, paintings, installations and other media covering a wide range of art—Naturalism, Surrealism, Abstract and Experimental, to name a few. The downstairs café serves coffee and light bites. Visitors can explore the outdoor patio with sculpture garden and fountain installations.
