Located in the heart of Skagen, Anchers Hus is the home of famous painters Anna Ancher and Michael Ancher. One of the most celebrated families in Scandinavian art history, the house and its interiors are preserved from 1935. The family collection includes several thousand pieces, with artworks by more than 100 Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, German and British artists—visitors today can view around 250 works on display in the house. An eclectic paradise (and cabinet of curiosities), every room is filled with decorative objects, period furniture and souvenirs from the Ancher family travels (including gifts from both the local community and royal family).

A café is in the neighboring house, serving fresh sourdough bread and cakes along with coffee and wine. The garden patio is a perfect break spot after taking a tour of the home.
