Best Hikes

St. Barth’s has lots of great hiking trails, which lead to glorious views and a better sense of local living. Among our favorites: Flamands to Colombier; the natural swimming pools between Grand Cul de Sac and Le Toiny; Grand Fond to more natural swimming pools.

Form Fitness

There are gyms all over the island and in many of the best hotels, but if you want to work out with many of the island’s fittest folk, this is the place. The two-year-old club has weight machines, group classes, Pilates and yoga; you can buy daily or weekly access. They will arrange for a personal trainer to work with you at your yacht or villa.

Modjo

This club, which was opened by Jacques Dumas who started his career as a DJ in Paris at Castel and Bus Palladium before he helped open Nikki Beach and later Bagatelle in New York, has been described as a mix between a private club and a four star snack bar. It has a cozy atmosphere, stylish crowd and lots of celebrations.

The Bucket Regatta

For those traveling to St. Barth’s in March (17th-20th), be sure to consider taking a boat out to view the thrilling Bucket regatta. The Bucket is an adored tradition when sailors from around the world come to compete in an around-the-island race. Last year, 35 super yachts entered four classes and whether you watched from the beaches or terraces on the island or from one of the many spectator boats, it was a gorgeous spectacle. No matter who wins (last year it was the Visione that snagged the “Bucket” trophy), crew and fans celebrate at one of the year’s great parties. A new addition in 2015 was the air show provided by one of the racers, Ed Bosarge, who owns the Texas Flying Museum and brought eight vintage military planes down to the region for an aerial performance with astonishing acrobatics.
