Indagare Tours: Sunrise Boat Cruise on the Ganges

Ganges

In the early mornings on the Ganges, the ghats are crowded with people performing a wide variety of rituals. You will board a wooden rowboat with a guide and head along the river to see multiple ghats filled with ashrams of young monks practicing yoga, cremation sites where mourners complete their rituals and Hindu pilgrims taking a dip for spiritual cleansing. As the sun rises, you will also see Buddhist monks and their followers cross to the uninhabited mud flats on the other side of the river, where the Buddha is said to have crossed the river without the aid of any boat. After soaking in the wonder of these religious rites, return to your hotel for breakfast.
