Corfu has been famous since the days of Homer: the Ionian island was Odysseus’s last stop before returning home. In modern times, it was one of the first Greek islands to be developed for tourism. While there are many hotels in Corfu, the most high-end properties are four-star, at best. Our favorite way to experience Corfu is to rent a villa, some of which are truly luxurious, especially on the less touristy northern side of the island.

Designing Your Journey
Work with Indagare to design the perfect itinerary for an immersive journey. Our travel experts know the destination inside and out, and they can make recommendations based on your travel needs and preferences.
Essential Corfu
Corfu is best enjoyed with an itinerary that features special experiences and insider tips. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.
Day 1-2
Spend your first days in Corfu exploring the vast history of the Ionian island. Indagare can arrange a private guide to show you such sites as the Imperial Old Fortress and walk you through the narrow streets of Corfu Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoons, enjoy a long lunch and shopping before relaxing on the beach or at your villa.
Day 3
Today, join your guide for a visit to the Achilleion at Gastouri, the palace built by Austrian Empress Elisabeth of Bavaria. With the mythical Homeric figure of Achilles as its theme, the palace holds a remarkable collection of paintings and statues. From its hilltop perch, it has a gorgeous panoramic view of town and the Ionian sea, which you can take in from the lush gardens. In the evening, enjoy fun cocktails before a delicious dinner at an Indagare-recommended restaurant.
Day 4
Spend your morning on the water with a private yacht charter that can take you around the peninsulas and islands of the Ionian. There are many possible day trips to nearby islands, but the closest are Paxos and Anti-Paxos, where you can explore charming villas and pristine beaches. Alternatively, Indagare can also arrange a guided four-wheel drive through the olive groves of Corfu, whose landscape is more lush and green than the other popular Greek isles, due to heavy winter rains.
Where To Stay
We only feature hotels that we can vouch for first-hand. At many of them, Indagare members receive special amenities, including upgrades, early check-in, breakfast, spa credits and more. Look for the Indagare Plus logo in the reviews.

Corfu Imperial
A luxury resort set in a gorgeous location, Corfu Imperial delivers on expected services and amenities but feels corporate. While it is the best hotel on the island, it is inconveniently located a 20-minute drive outside of Corfu Town.

Eva Palace
While Eva Palace does not have an official adults-only policy, it seems to cater to couples and honeymooners who want to enjoy its picturesque setting sans kids.
