Venice Now: Where to Stay, Eat, Drink and Get Lost

Indagare’s Simone Girner scouted in Venice in late 2023, revisiting old favorites and discovering the city’s most exciting newcomers. With next year’s reopening of the iconic Bauer as a Rosewood, and the future arrival of such brands as Belmond and Langham, Venice will be in the travel spotlight in years to come. Now’s the time to experience the new before the rest of the world arrives.

Simone’s Take: As Mark Ellwood covers in his article The Birth of All-Season Travel, the seasonality of Venice is quickly non-existent. My personal favorite time to come to Venice has always been mid to late November, and this trip was no different. The main tourist hubs were still busy but it was easy to slip into the narrow calles of Canareggio and feel practically alone.
