15 Standout Hotels & Resorts for Tennis

Zendaya in Challengers, Alexander Zverev taking the French Open, Serena Williams winning in her debut return—tennis has remained a cultural fascination since the 20th century, and it’s only gaining force as time passes. The U.S. Tennis Association claims that 27.3 million people played the sport last year—so it’s no surprise that luxury hotels are taking note, too, expanding their offerings both on and off the court.

Whether you’re looking to refine your serve, learn a new skill or simply enjoy a fun match with loved ones, we asked our trip designers, editors and partners for the places they love to play tennis around the world, from the cliffs of Amalfi to Tanzania’s wildlife reserves. These properties offer dozens of courts, on-site pros and expert-led clinics—plus, spectacular settings that may make it difficult to leave, and the opportunity to explore longevity, wellness and connection (with a feel-good dopamine kick). Discover the list of our favorite hotels and resorts for the ultimate tennis getaway below.

POSITANO, ITALY

II San Pietro di Positano

Often referred to as the most scenic court in the world, the regulation-size tennis court at Il San Pietro di Positano is carved into the cliffside, with the rush of waves punctuating every serve. Complimentary and exclusive to guests, the court is reached via a seaside elevator that leads to II San Pietro’s private beach club. The ambiance is an ace—a showstopper from start to finish.

ANTIBES, FRANCE

Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc

This glamorous, historic property on the French Riviera is home to five clay courts tucked under Aleppo pines, palms and olive trees. The courts are lit for night play, coaching is available upon request for all levels and there’s a dedicated coach for children in the kid’s club. Spend the afternoon playing in pleated skirts before a sunset dinner—if you don’t lose track of time.

LAKE COMO, ITALY

Grand Hotel Tremezzo and Passalacqua

Mariuccia Gandola, the daughter of the founders of Grand Hotel Tremezzo, loved to play tennis as a child. Inspired by her love for the sport, the hotel became one of the first on Lake Como to install a tennis court, in 1910. The De Santis family purchased this iconic Art Nouveau palace in 1975, and when they opened sister property Passalacqua in 2022, they continued this tennis tradition with the inclusion of a so-called “infinity court,” which quickly became one of the most photographed courts on Lake Como.

LAKE LUCERNE, SWITZERLAND

Bürgenstock Resort

At the sophisticated Bürgenstock Resort in Switzerland, the LUX tennis program at Diamond Domes attracts beginners and world-class players alike. With a backdrop of the Swiss Alps, elite coaching from Julien Evrard, kids’ classes and celebrity ambassador events, the majestic location is the perfect match for elevating your game.

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

Necker Island

Sir Richard Branson’s 74-acre private island in the British Virgin Islands has two floodlit Astroturf tennis courts with two resident professional coaches available for lessons. It’s also home to the Necker Cup—a six-day, five-night, all-inclusive pro-am tennis tournament.

MARBELLA, SPAIN

Puente Romano

Home to the Puente Romano Tennis Club, Puente Romano Marbella is synonymous with elite tennis. With eight floodlit clay courts (as well as floodlit glass paddle courts), a pro shop and an indoor and outdoor gym, this is where the professionals thrive. There’s also a Junior Training Academy with coaching for kids at beginner to advanced levels, as well as junior mix-in tournaments.

VENICE, ITALY

Hotel Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, Venice

At this Indagare-adored property, the glamour extends all the way to the tennis court. Set on the Giudecca Lagoon, the only red clay court in central Venice is reserved exclusively for hotel guests. Private lessons are available with an expert coach, and locker rooms and showers are available courtside.

ANTIGUA

Curtain Bluff

Beloved by Indagare staff, the old-school resort Curtain Bluff hosts an annual Tennis Challenge Week every November, where guests play alongside pros. With four championship hard courts, the property is great for groups and family-friendly.

TURKS & CAICOS

COMO Parrot Cay

This tranquil private island resort has two Omni-Surface courts and private bespoke coaching for all levels. In 2025, the property hosted a sold-out retreat with reigning U.S. Open and French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz.

PORTOFINO, ITALY

Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino

After a multi-year renovation by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio in June 2025, Splendido reopened with an undeniably chic hillside tennis court overlooking the sparkling waters of the Bay of Portofino. Tennis classes are available with full-time expert coaches.

FLORIDA, UNITED STATES

The Boca Raton

The Boca Raton in South Florida recently debuted an upgraded Raquet Club with 14 state-of-the-art HydroGrid courts that keep the surface 20 percent cooler than standard hard courts (plus, 12 newly transformed hard-surface pickleball courts). With a full-service tennis concierge, expert lessons available, clinics and a new courtside bar serving cold pressed juices, power drinks, healthy snacks, draft beer and cocktails, this isn’t just a court, it’s a club.

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES

Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa

Recognized as one of the best places to play in the U.S., Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa comes with 12 Plexipave championship courts, three European Red Clay courts, three padel courts and four pickleball courts. Surrounded by greenery and palm trees, guests of all levels can partner with an experienced professional to improve their game here. Plus—Rancho Valencia hosts the Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy, a junior program and a variety of summer and holiday camps.

PORTO HELI, GREECE

Amanzoe

Perched on a hilltop on the east coast of Greece’s Peloponnese Peninsula, Amanzoe’s LUX tennis center provides two floodlit hard tennis courts among olive groves, with panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. Customized tennis coaching, one-on-one programs, group sessions with professionals, clinics and special events are available for all ages.

HARBOUR ISLAND, BAHAMAS

Coral Sands Inn & Cottages

Coral Sands’s hot pink and turquoise tennis courts are dreamy for a sporty girls’ weekend getaway. With the ocean nearby, the vibe here is less about elite coaching and more about fun.

TANZANIA

Singita Sasakwa

One of Singita’s most jaw-dropping properties in the Grumeti Reserve also has two private tennis courts, which are quite popular among guests. Overlooking the Serengeti, the views are truly unparalleled, and game sightings are common while playing (imagine scoring an ace as a monkey walks by?). Lessons are also available.
