Each year, Indagare keeps a list of Paris restaurants that remain open in August (when most of the French capital closes for summer holiday). Restaurateurs, chefs, and Parisians alike take their own vacations during this month, and it’s common for even well-known addresses to shutter for anywhere from a few days to several weeks—which can catch visitors off guard if they’re planning a trip around a specific reservation.
Here are 50 of Indagare’s favorite Paris restaurants open in August 2026—at least partially, whether for lunch, dinner, drinks or all three. The list spans everything from Michelin-starred dining rooms and century-old bistros to rooftop terraces and wine bars, across arrondissements from the Marais and Saint-Germain to Montmartre and Trocadéro, plus two properties just outside the city at Versailles. Closure dates shift from year to year and are sometimes only confirmed a few weeks in advance, so we’ve checked each restaurant’s official site, Instagram, Facebook and reservation platforms to reflect what’s known for August 2026 as of mid July—and noted where a closure is likely but hasn’t yet been officially confirmed. Be sure to still call ahead for opening hours; many of the restaurants below are closed on Sunday and Monday, and August closure windows can change, especially for smaller, chef-owned spots.
