Spa at Penha Longa Resort

Set within the Penha Longa Resort in Sintra, the 16,000-square-foot spa include a Jacuzzi, contrast pool and a three-meter waterfall imbuing the place with a sense of being in nature. Overlooking the pool is a teak and stone platform that hosts sunrise yoga classes and Qi-Gong practices. Treatments are based on Ayurvedic methods (facials include chakra balancing), but have a decidedly European feel, with most including locally pressed olive oil. The menu is moderately priced but it’s worth splurging on one of the more expensive cures, such as one of the signature massages that work to detox the body. More adventurous guests should check out the mysterious Labyrinth Workshops, which promise to reconnect you to your inner self.
