Bayeux
The small but grand city of Bayeux was the only one in the region spared from the 1944 Allied bombings, and thus has maintained a Medieval sort of fairy-tale charm. Navigation can be tricky, as the main street has four different names, but the babbling brook that winds through most of the town, as well as the grand cathedral looming helps to orient newcomers.
