The Palace’s “informal” restaurant in the basement of the hotel was used as a bunker during WWII to hide gold belonging to the Swiss National Bank. The heavy armored doors of the safe have been preserved and add to the alluring underground cave-like vibe. As its name suggest, the restaurant features typical Swiss fare, but with an upscale twist, for example cheese fondue is made with champagne and truffles. Open for dinner only, this is as casual as it gets at The Palace (i.e. there is no dress code.)
