The comfortable, unpretentious hotel offers a sense of history and excellent value in the charming town of Montecito.

Centrally located on the main street of Montecito, the historic Mission-style inn was founded in 1928. One of its original owners was Charlie Chaplin, and images of the silent-screen star still adorn many places; there’s even a grinning face on the bathroom soap. The rooms offer a cross between a motel and grandma’s bed-and-breakfast – but are gradually being upgraded with hipper, more modern furnishing. They are being soundproofed as well. With a pool and a friendly staff, the rates are very reasonable, especially in low season. One of the nicest things about the inn is the on-site Montecito Café, a local favorite.**
