Destination Spotlight: Sweden

Indagare and Visit Sweden partnered to bring you this special, three-part video series that will transport you across the Scandinavian nation. In the first episode, we toured Gustav III's Pavilion, which was closed to the public and opened exclusively for the Indagare community. We then made our way up to the northern part of the country to see the exquisite Icehotel as it prepared for the winter season and mix a cocktail from the famous Ice Bar. We rounded out the Swedish experience in episode three by visiting the Stockholm archipelago for tips and tricks to make Swedish cinnamon buns.

Virtual Tour of Gustav III’s Pavilion

It was from Gustav III’s Pavilion that King Gustav III set off for the fateful masquerade ball at the Royal Swedish Opera in March 1792. Today, his pavilion in Stockholm’s Haga Park is one of the highlights of Swedish art history and one of the finest examples of European Neoclassicism in the late 1700s in Northern Europe. Meet the museum docent as he opens the Pavilion exclusively for our audience and takes you through some of the its most exquisite interiors. You'll see prime examples of Pompeian style as well as works by period masters.
