Skip tourist-trap shopping on Ocean Drive and walk a block west to Collins Avenue to shop the boutiques between Fifth and Ninth streets. Another fabulous shopping destination is the mostly pedestrian Lincoln Road. Take a taxi or leave the car in one of the public parking lots on the north side of Meridian Avenue, and stop off in stores like Base and Alchemist. Hop in a cab and over the bridge to the Design District, the home of Design Miami, where you’ll find new retail openings such as Marni, En Avance, and Tomas Maier. There is a gallery walk on the second Saturday of every month, where stores are open late and the streets are filled with locals. And, of course, don’t miss Bal Harbour Shops, Miami’s most glamorous outdoor mall.
