St Andrews

Courtesy Mitchell
Due to its location perched on St Andrews Bay, the town boasts many restaurants that feature chefs who reap the bounty of the sea. Menus are heavy on fresh mussels, crab, lobster and the quintessentially Scottish salmon. Restaurants are concentrated in the city’s historic center on Market, South and North Streets, along with a smattering on the breathtaking waterfront. Be warned: there is an obscure Scottish law that doesn’t allow children in many alcohol-serving eateries after 8:00pm, so make sure to check with your restaurant ahead of time if you’re travelling with children.
