Vienna’s elegance belies the intellectual and artistic fire that has kept it on top of the culture capital hierarchy for centuries. It is the cradle of Modernism, Freudian psychology, architectural innovation, the Waltz, urban planning, farm-to-table cuisine (and even wine)…and the list goes on. Join Indagare founder Melissa Biggs Bradley on this inaugural journey to explore her Vienna favorites—with private tours of the Belvedere Palace (a masterpiece of bygone aristocratic splendor, which houses Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss) and the Spanish Riding School, as well as an exclusive visit to the Liechtenstein Garden Palace and shopping at Vienna’s finest family-owned ateliers. Learn what has long made this quiet powerhouse one of Europe’s most enchanting and influential cities—and along the way, indulge at top restaurants with your fellow travelers and enjoy downtime at the iconic Hotel Sacher.

Trip Highlights

  • Go behind closed doors in Vienna’s sprawling palaces to survey private family art and design collections, with works by revered European artists and pieces that once belonged to the imperial family—all of which provide insight into the rich history of the Habsburg Monarchy.

  • Spend an evening gaining an inside look at the Belvedere Palace after it has closed to the public. This architectural masterpiece of bygone aristocratic splendor houses Gustav Klimt's The Kiss, among many works by the artist and his contemporaries Egon Schiele and Helene Funke.

  • Enjoy an exclusive visit to the Liechtenstein Garden Palace—which holds the family’s most prestigious art—as well as a visit to the sprawling Schönbrunn Palace and its Baroque gardens.

  • Stay at one of the city’s most iconic luxury hotels (and one of the oldest family-owned hotels in Europe)—the Hotel Sacher.

Please note that elements of the itinerary may change.
